H1N1 vaccinations in full swing By Gary Ridderbusch News-Review Asst. Editor While Wisconsin has seen a modest decrease in H1N1 influenza, flu activity is still much higher than normal for this time of year and vaccination clinics are in full swing across the North Woods.
Health officials in Vilas and Oneida counties are encouraging people to get the H1N1 vaccination.
“This virus has caused deaths in children and healthy adults, so it can be very serious,” said Gina Egan, Vilas County health officer.
While state health officials say the H1N1 illness levels appear to have decreased somewhat, Egan said it is still widespread throughout Wisconsin.
Egan said the symptoms of influenza are similar to those caused by many other viruses.
