141 Pines seniors to receive diplomas By Gary Ridderbusch News-Review Asst. Editor A total of 141 seniors at Northland Pines High School will receive their diplomas during a graduation ceremony this Sunday, June 6.
Three Lakes High School held its ceremony for 54 seniors May 28, while Phelps had commencement exercises for 12 seniors May 29.
The Northland Pines graduation ceremony Sunday will start at 1 p.m. in the high school field house.
Class president Sarah Neddo will offer the welcome and the Northland Pines choir will sing the national anthem. The choir also will sing “A Parting Blessing.”
Senior speakers Meagan Neis and Jake McGinnis will address the class and audience.
The class gift will be presented by class secretary Alexis Snedden and treasurer Lauren Sparks. Principal Scott Foster also will address the class.
District Administrator Mike Richie will present the class and school board President Tim Gaffney will accept the class. Richie, Gaffney and Foster will award the diplomas and other school board members will offer their congratulations at the side of the stage.
The farewell will be offered by class vice president McGinnis.
The band, under the direction of high school band instructor Brandon Bautz, will play the prelude, processional and recessional. The choir is under the direction of Katherine Dvorachek.
While Northland Pines does not recognize a valedictorian and salutatorian, the top 10% receive medals. They include Taylor Arnold, Sarah Ludwig, Jake McGinnis, Andrew Meyer, Hillary Mork, Matalyn Moustakis, Sarah Neddo, Meagan Neis, Autumn Nielsen, Jason Nystrom, James Schwanke, Alexis Snedden, Lauren Sparks, Samantha Stys and McKenzie Weber.
