Fishing Has No Boundaries planned on Eagle River Chain this weekend By Gary Ridderbusch News-Review Asst. Editor The 17th annual Fishing Has No Boundaries (FHNB) will be held this Friday through Sunday, June 4-6, on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes, offering a weekend fishing outing for people with disabilities.
The event is expected to bring about 120 participants to Eagle River, with the event headquartered at Wild Eagle Lodge.
“Fishing Has No Boundaries affords a fishing experience for individuals who otherwise may not have such an opportunity,” said event coordinator Wil Campbell, who has been involved with the Eagle River program since the first event 17 years ago.
Campbell said FHNB was moved to Wild Eagle Lodge in 2008 for more parking and dock space.
“They have a wonderful dock facility at Wild Eagle Lodge and a large tent will be utilized for our festivities,” he said. Wild Eagle Lodge is located at 4443 Chain O’ Lakes Road.
Many companies, organizations and individuals donate time and products for the participants attending the event.
“We’re expecting more than 150 volunteers and sponsors this year,” said Campbell. “The sponsors allow Fishing Has No Boundaries to present door prizes as awards in various fishing categories. We’re lucky because the public really comes forward for this event.”
