Oneida to register all septic systems

In the next three years, Oneida County will require every property owner with a septic system to enroll in a maintenance program that ensures such systems are pumped or inspected on a regular basis.
Karl Jennrich, the county’s zoning director, said about one-third of the private onsite wastewater treatment systems (POWTS) in the county have never been registered — most of which were installed more than 30 years ago.

Meeting set Thursday on Pines cheer program
A meeting regarding the 2010-’11 Northland Pines High School (NPHS) cheer and dance program will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, at 6:45 p.m. in the large-group instruction room at the high school.
District officials said the meeting is solely intended to discuss the NPHS cheer and dance program for the 2010-’11 season.

Pines awaits decision on gold-level challenge

A decision on the re-evaluation of Northland Pines High School receiving a Leadership in Environmental and Economic Design (LEED) gold-level standard by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has been delayed.
District Administrator Mike Richie told the school board last Monday that he received a request for further information from the re-evaluators and he anticipated a decision later in February.
